Moodbidire: Kambala, depicting the culture of rural society is not only a sport but also an art that energizes rural life. Requiring bravery, strength, art, and concentration, Kambala has made its mark. State Chief Minister Basavaraja Bommai said that one-day Kambala will be held in all the states of India and days will come when Kambala will be held in foreign countries as well.

He participated in the 20th annual Moobidiri Honalu Koti-Chennai Kambala being held at Kadalkere Nature Reserve, Veerarani Abbakka Culture Village of Ontikatta under the leadership of MLA Umanath Kotyan and unveiled a portrait of Vajpayee as part of Sushasan Day celebrations. He wished that this traditional sport will always shine as long as there is the sun and the moon. He mentioned that to race buffalos on the Kambala track requires intelligence rather than strength, and only if you know the art of adjustment and control you will be a winner.
The Chief Minister was felicitated by the Kambala Committee. In-charge Minister V. Sunil Kumar, Ministers CT Ravikumar, Narayana Gowda, Education Minister Nagesh, District Collector Ravi Kumar, Municipal Chairman Prasad Kumar, Standing Committee Chairman Nagaraja Pujari, Assistant Forest Conservator Satish K, Zonal Forest Officer Hemgiri Angadi, Superintendent of Police, Kambala General Secretary of the committee, Gunapala Kadamba, Bhaskar S. Kotyan were present on the occasion.
