Moodbidire: “Netaji Brigade”, a voluntary organization of Moodbidire which collected funds for the treatment of sick children by putting on fancy dresses in various places including Koti-Chennaya Jodukare Kambal, handed over a total of Rs 2,02,576 to 8 helpless people on Sunday.
MLA Umanatha A. Kotyan, who participated as the chief guest in the program, handed over the collected donation in Jyotinagar school and said that instead of merely participating in the fair, and watching Kambala and other programs, the Netaji Brigade, wearing fancy costumes, holding boxes and getting cooperation from donors, giving it to various kinds of sick and disabled families requiring medical treatment, thereby wiping their tears and giving strength is commendable.
Rahul Kulal of Netaji Brigade said that so far we have handed over Rs 13,08303 to 49 families for the treatment of the disabled. We collected Rs 2,2,576 for our 9th Seva Yojana, and treated 8 people in the 20th annual Koti-Chennaya Jodukare Kambala held recently at Moodbidire. He said that we have made a plan to buy an ambulance in the next few days. Those who dressed up for fundraising were honored on the occasion. This collected amount is provided for the treatment of various diseases including cancer.
Municipal Chairman Prasad Kumar, Guruswami Raghu Poojary, Santhosh Shetty, Municipal nominated member Rajesh Mallya participated as chief guests. Members of Netaji Brigade were present on the occasion.
