Moodabidri: With the intention of extorting crores of rupees, a tourist bungalow in Moodabidri, which has a history of more than 100 years, is being demolished for a 40% commission to construct a new building. We will not allow this building to be demolished for any reason, former Minister K. Abhayachandra Jain has warned that if the MLAs proceed to demolish the well-equipped building despite there being a lot of opposition, the MLAs will be gheraoed.

The Moodabidri tourist bungalow named Lovely Bungalow has a history of about 116 years and was inaugurated in 1907 by the then Governor of Madras, Arthur Lovely. This is the old and well-equipped building that remains in Moodabidri. Last year, this building was repaired at a cost of a few lakhs. Now there is a plan to demolish this building and construct a new building at a cost of Rs.5 crore.

Even if there is opposition from the people, why are the MLAs continuing with so much interest? Abhayachandra who has questioned that, it seems to be popular that it is for 40% commission. Government money is not allowed to go to waste for any reason. He said that they will not even let the tourist bungalow be demolished.
