Aam Aadmi Party Bengaluru President Mohan Dasari protested against the wrong information in the CBSE textbook that one of the largest dams, the Tungabhadra Irrigation Project, is located in Andhra Pradesh.
A list of major multi-purpose river projects in the country is given in the CBSE Class IV textbook. It has wrong information that Tungabhadra Irrigation Project is in Andhra Pradesh. How correct is it to teach children that Tungabhadra Dam in Bellary district, with 135 TMC capacity, or Pampa Sagar is a project in Andhra Pradesh?” Mohan Dasari asked
In his tweet, he mentioned that in the chapter on water resources in class 4 of the CBSE textbook of his son, states that the Tungabhadra Project is in Andhra Pradesh. he further says that the Tunga and the Bhadra rivers originate, merge and flow as River Tungabhadra in Karnataka State for 100s of Kilometers.
