Moodabidri: BJP Mulki-Moodbidire mandal president Sunil Alva has opposed the claim of Karnataka Pradesh Congress general secretary Mithun Rai under the guise of goodwill for Muslim appeasement that Muslim kings had given land to Krishna Mutt .

Speaking at a press conference at the BJP office in Moodabidri on Thursday, he said that Mithun Rai should understand the statement that Sri Vishwaprasannatirtha Swamiji of Udupi Math had said that land was given to Udupi Krishna Math by a King named Vijayanagara Samantaraja Bhoja , and said that it highlights Rai’s lack of understanding of Hindu heritage.

We are fond of camaraderie but did Mithun Rai question the fanatics’ opposition during 2004-15 when a tableau was created and taken in a procession during the Bajpe Sharadotsava to show the devotion of Devi to Bappa Bari in Sri Kshetra Bappanad? He asked.

Mithun Rai, who spoke about cow protection, killed a cow lover because he was a challenge to cow slaughterers, why Congress did not question him?

When Tipu Sultan’s army raided and demolished the church in Kinnigoli’s Dhamaskatte, the Banta community protected it. In this background, the Banta community is respected in the church even today. Sunil Alva challenged Mithun Rai whether he had the strength to mention this background in his speech.

When Tipu Sultan attacked the Hindu Christians, the original idol of Lord Krishna in Udupi was placed in a pit next to the banks of Hiriadka Svarna River for about 1 year. It is called Koota Gundi Math. He said, does Mithun Rai know about this issue?

Sunil Alva suggested that one should know the Hindu heritage before making statements that hurt the sentiments of Hindus.
BJP Mandal General Secretary Keshav Karkera, Gopal Shettigar, Yuva Morcha President Aswath Panpila, Municipal Member Shweta Jain, prominent Shambhavi Shetty, Venugopal Bhat, Satvik Mallya, Kishore Puttige, Lokesh Bajpe and others were present.
