Moodabidire: Moodbidire Police on Monday arrested the accused who killed a man by running a tipper truck over him after first hitting him on the head with a rod. The victim had told him to not drive the vehicle rashly so as to lift up the dust.
A resident of Kotebagilu, tipper driver Arees has been arrested for murdering Fayaz (61), also a resident of Kotebagilu, last Friday. He went into hiding after committing the crime.
Fayaz was going to Kotebagilu Masjid for Namaz on Friday when Arees was driving a tipper at high speed. This caused the dust to be sprayed on Fayaz who was walking to the mosque. Fayaz got angry and asked Arees to slow down.
After the Namaz, there was an argument between the two of them, and Fayaz went near the steps of the tipper to speak to Arees. It was then that Arees hit him on the head with an iron rod, started the tipper and drove off. Fayaz fell onto the road after he was hit and the tipper ran over him. He died while being rushed to the hospital by the public
