Moodabidri: Two masked men barged into a house at Berinje in Badaga Mijaru Village and escaped with a gold chain weighing around 5 sovereigns from a woman on the night of Tuesday September 13.
Kamala Shetty, a helper at the anganwadi centre, was the victim who was robbed. She was alone at home, and an acquaintance would come to her house to sleep at night in her house. Her husband and sons have passed away.
The two were talking outside the house at around 11.00 pm and as soon as they went inside the house to sleep, two masked men armed with weapons entered into the house, grabbed Kamala’s neck and dragged her black beaded chain. When the woman raised an alarm, though youth nearby rushed to the spot. However, no clue of the accused was found. Kamala has been admitted to hospital.
Moodbidri Police has registered a case and are investigating.
