Moodabidri: Police has arrested two persons for assaulting a woman in relation with property issue.
The incident took place in the Kallottu of Padumarnadu Gram Panchayat. Kumki Padumarnadu Village Panchayat Vice-President Abhinandan Ballal and his friend Harish Hegde were arrested.
It is said that Harish and Shakuntala had dispute regarding Kumki land at Padumarnadu. Friday when Shakunthala and her relatives went to plant a sapling in this land, Harish opposed it. At this juncture there was a fight between these two. Harish, and Abhinand assulted the woman. In this regard woman had filled case against them.
By evening the incident took political turn. Some BJP workers rotested in front of the Police Station to arrest the accused.
The police filed case, arrested accused and produced before the court. The court has ordered judicial custody.
