Mangaluru: The customs officials at Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) on Saturday September 24 seized 306.000 gms of gold of 24-carat purity from a passenger from who arrived from Dubai.
According to the officials, the passenger hailing from Bantwal allegedly tried to smuggle gold in a paste form by concealing it inside his vest and underwear.
The gold that was seized is estimated to be worth Rs. 15.36 lakhs. A case is registered in this regard.
