Moodabidri: Foundation Stone laying ceremony for Gopalakrishna Kodamanitaya Temple at Maruru – Hosangadi, to be built at a cost of Rs. Four and a half crores will be conducted by Shri Ishapri Swamiji of Udupi Adamaru Math at 10 am on March 8, K. Sripati Bhat, chairman of the Gopalakrishna Kodamanitaya Temple said at a news conference.
The Gopalakrishna Temple, which has a history of about 1200 years, is being prepared for Renovation, Reconcecration, and Brahmakalashotsavam. The sanctum sanctorum of the temple, the Tirthamantapa, and the surroundings will be built of stone. He said a village committee has already been formed in the 9 villages belonging to the temple.
Lakshmi Narayana Asranna, the high priest of the Katilu Sridurgaparameshwari Temple, Muktananda Swamiji will be present at the event. MLA Umanatha Kotyan, former minister Abhayachandra Jain, businessman Maruruguttu Bhoja Shetty, Mayor Prasad Kumar, Sudhir Hegde Bailor, and Todar Diwakar Shetty will be the chief guests.
Temple administration Moktesa Sampath Kumar, Sukumar Shetty of Hosangadi Palace, General Secretary of the Jeenodhara Samiti Ramdas Asranna and Secretary Sushant Karkera were also present at the news conference.
