Moodabidri: Amrita Sambhrama, Dasara Literature and Cultural Festival held

Moodabidri: Dr. Gajanana Sharma of Bengaluru has been awarded the 42nd Annual Vardhamana Sahitya Puraskar for the year 2021 that has a cash prize of Rs. 25,000 along with a copper plate at the Amrita Sambhrama of Dasara Literature and Cultural Festival at Samaja Mandir. Dr. H. S. Sathyanarayana of Chikkamagaluru was presented with Vardhamana Emerging Litterateur Award that has a cash prize of Rs.15,000 along with a copper plate.

Bhattaraka Charukeerthi Panditacharyavarya Swamiji of Jain Matha, in his blessings, said that after Karanth’s ‘Madumagalu’ in Malnad, Chennabairadevi’s work has created awareness about life in the coastal areas. He said that the mantapa named after the Queen at Thousand Pillar Basadi is inspiring many artists, scholars and achievers.

The programme was followed by yaksha-gaana-natya-vaibhava with the gathering of famous artistes.
