Moodabidri: A handful of villagers participated in the second phase of the Walpadi Gram Panchayat in the second phase of the 2022-23 Gram Sabha.
Speaking at the meeting, Gram Panchayat President Pradeep Kumar said that the gram sabha are for the villagers. Villagers can convey their problems to the representatives and officials. We have properly promoted the Gram Sabha from the panchayat side. We also made announcements on the main roads of the wards. In the next few days the villagers are requested to participate in large numbers.
Former Vice President Arun Kumar Shetty said that the leopard in the Grapam range, Popladi and Hallenjar, has increased the bite and the villagers are worried. He questioned what action was taken by the Forest Department. Forest Officer Soumya replied that the cages were placed there to trap the Leopard.
The villager Champa Shetty brought to the notice of the meeting that the road to the Aliyur High School is in Nadurasi. The president said that the lawmakers have demanded a grant.
PDO Ramesh Rathod said that cleanliness has been given to the panchayat. The villagers appealed for the removal of garbage behind the Aliyoor High School and the appropriate action was taken.
