Mangaluru Dec. 14: The Rotary Club of Mangalore City donated an Intensive Care Unit for high-risk pregnancy at Ladygoschen Hospital Mangaluru costing 34 lakhs on 14.12.2022 at a function held at the hospital premises.
Past District Governor and World Rotaract Co-Chairman Rtn. Ravi Vadlamani graced the occasion as Chief Guest, in his address he revealed that it is a project initiated under a world Global grant of the Rotary International Foundation in association with the Rotary Club of Schererville, Indiana U.S.A. and it is a clubs community oriented dream project implemented by Rotary Club of Mangalore City. It is a project in memory of the Past Rotary District Governor Late Sooryaprakash Bhat, he paid rich tributes to Bhat for his invaluable contributions to the Rotary movement.
Past District Governor Rtn. Ranjan Kini, Chairman of Rotary Dist. Foundation R.I. District 6540 U.S.A. expressed his happiness over the project donated by the club for a noble cause in tune with Ladygoschen hospital’s motto safe motherhood and safe delivery. He exchanged a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Medical Superintendent of Ladygoschen Hospital Dr Durgaprasad.
Eminent Gynaecologist Rtn. Dr S.R. Nayak revealed that pregnant women with lifestyle factors such as smoking drug addiction, alcohol habits, Covid 19, Hypertension, HIV, Obesity, and Diabetes are more prone to High-Risk Pregnancy.
Chairman of the Global grant project Rtn. Dr Ranjan, Dy. Mayor of Mangalore City Corporation Smt. Poornima, District Governor Rtn. Prakash Karanth, Past District Governor Rtn. Ravindra Bhat, Shreemathi Sooryaprakash Bhat, Past President Rtn. Canute Pinto was present on this occasion.
