Murder accused acquitted by the District and Sessions Court

Moodbidire: The District and Sessions Court of Mangalore acquitted the two accused of the murder case that took place in Kelaputtige near Daregudde, Moodbidire in the month of February 2020.

Details of the case: On the night of February 23, 2020, Rabindra was drinking alcohol and came to dance at home. It was alleged that the accused Anand assaulted Rabindra on his cheek and another accused Srinivasa seriously assaulted him on the head and other parts of the body, causing Ravindra to die.

The Moodbidire police registered a case and arrested the accused Srinivasa and Anand on charges of murder and submitted the charge sheet to the court. 28 people testified during the trial.
The 3rd Additional District and Sessions Court of Mangalore, which heard the case, dismissed the case and acquitted the accused as the charges were not substantiated.

On behalf of the accused, Mangalore lawyer B. Zakir Hussain and Moodbidire lawyer Anand K Shantinagar argued.
