Moodabidri: The municipality presented a surplus budget of Rs 31.07 lakh for the year 2023-24 with revenue of Rs 30.31 crore and expenditure of Rs 30.10 crore.
Municipal President Prasad Kumar presented the budget in a special meeting held on Wednesday. Budget revenue includes property tax 2.77 crore, water charges 1.05 crore, SFC salary grant 1 crore, SFC electricity grant 3.25 crore, SFC special grant 1 crore, 15th fiscal common base grant 2 crore, rent of commercial shops 80 lakh, building permit and renewal 50 Lakhs, Building Development Fee 30 Lakhs, Market Tax Collection 75 Lakhs, Business License 16 Lakhs. Household Garbage Collection Fee 50 Lakhs, Account Change 50 Lakhs, SFC Open Fund 75 Lakhs, Swachh Bharat Mission Grant 25 Lakhs, Amrita Nirmala Nagar Yojana 50 Lakhs, MLA’s Regional Development Scheme 15 Lakhs, Other Grants 30 Lakhs and other incomes.
The budget outlay includes salaries, allowances, 1.31 crores, street lights, electric lighting costs 1.25 crores, civil servants’ salaries 1 crores, water supply electricity costs 2 crores, construction of roads, paving, and footpaths 2.50 crores, installation of street lights, traffic lights, poles 1 crores, box 1 crore for sewer construction, 15 lakh for building repair and maintenance, 20 lakh for building electricity, 60 lakh for road and drain repair and maintenance, 30 lakh for street lamp maintenance and other expenses.
Vice President Sujata Sashidhar, Standing Committee Chairman Nagaraja Pujari, Environmental Engineer Shilpa, Accountant Seema, and other officials were present.
