Moodabidri: The Moodabidri Auto-rickshaw Drivers’ Association submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Commissioner through Moodabidri Tahasildar demanding rise in auto fare.

The auto drivers stated in the memorandum that the minimum fare for the autoricshaw was decided 10 years ago. Now in this 10 years the rate of petrol and diesel has sky-rocketed. While in this 10 years KSRTC has increased bus fare 8 times, the autorickshaw fare has not seen any rise.

Therefore, the association has demanded that the minimum fare for 1.5 kms be fixed at Rs. 45.
