Moodabidri: Leopard attack at Permude Tenka Ekkar. A few days ago the dog was chased by leopards which was recorded on CCTV. Now the leopard has made an attempt to attack a cow’s calf in broad daylight on (11.01.2023).
The farmer Pascal came out of the house after hearing the monkeys that were surrounding the calf screech and the dogs barking. It was then that the leopard ran from there. Leopards, which used to only take dogs so far, have started attacking cattle as well. Permude, Tenka Ekkaru villages are hilly, forested, and agricultural plantation areas and people are afraid to walk anticipating a attack. Children walk to school and the situation is dangerous. There is a need for forest department officials to take appropriate action before more damage is done.
