Moodbidire: A unique rotating Christmas star made of raw and dry nuts including mustard, coriander, gram, ragi, is made by Life Seva Institute of Shirtadi. The star will be put on display in the premises of Mount Carmel Church in Shirtadi on the occasion of Christmas from December 23 to January 5.
The Nakshatra weighs 120 kg, is 12 feet tall and 11 feet wide. At the center of the Nakshatra is an attractive godali with a thatched roof depicting the birth of Jesus Christ. Prasanna Joel Sequeira, head of the organization, worked hard for 3 weeks to prepare this star. Along with him, members of the organization Naveen Shetty Shirtadi, Cyprian D’Souza Shirtadi, Ramesh Shetty Mangalore, Nagaraj Alangaru have collaborated.
The company has been engaged in large-scale star making for the last 10 years, making a star every year using a unique variety of materials.
10 different types of materials are used for this Nakshatra. Constructed using 1 kg mustard, 1 kg coriander, 1 kg gram, 1 kg millet, 2 kg groundnut, 20 kg raw betel nut, 2 kg dry betel nut, 1 hp motor, vehicle housing, wooden pieces, this nakshatra rotates electrically and is decorated with lights.
