Blood donation camp held at Samaj Mandir

Moodabidri:  A blood donation camp was held at the Samaj Mandir on Sunday under the joint auspices of Alvas Health Centre, Samaj Mandir, and the Public Shree Ganeshotsav Trust on behalf of the Public Sri Ganeshotsav Committee of Moodabidri, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary.

MLA Umanatha Kotyan lit the lamp, inaugurated the camp, and said that blood donation is the greatest charity. If we donate blood from our body, blood is produced and stored in our body at the same rate. He said that the blood we donate will be used for urgent needs so, more healthy people should decide to donate blood.

Ganeshotsav Committee President K. Sripathi Bhat presided over and said that since the Ganeshotsav Committee is 60 years old, one good program is organized every month.

Former Minister, Samaj Mandir Sabha President Abhayachandra Jain spoke as the chief guest and said that blood has the power to save another’s life. It is commendable that nowadays organ donation is done along with blood donation.

Alvas Hospital PRO Rajesh was present on the occasion.
Harish M.K presented the program and thanked him.
