Moodbidire: Alva’s Educational Institution has set a record for the highest number of people practicing yoga in an educational institution in the yogathon held across the state on January 15 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of independence.
A world record of 4,05,255 people participated simultaneously in the Yogathon held on January 15 across the state. On that day, the highest number (31,986) of any educational institution in the state had practiced yoga at Alva’s Educational Institution. Youth Empowerment and Sports Minister Narayana Gowda has announced that JSS Institute of Mysore has got the second position.
Alva’s Education Foundation President Dr. M. Mohan Alva was congratulated by him with a letter of appreciation.
Mrs. Vanajakshi K. of Alva’s Education Institute. Yoga was practiced simultaneously at the Shripati Bhat platform. Belgaum (49,626), Mysore (41,044) and Vijayapur (36,644) were among the districts where the highest number of people practiced yoga.
