Moodabidri: Kuvempu University conferred Doctorate (Ph.D) degree on a research paper on “Buddhists of Karnataka- A Sociological Study” presented by Doreswami KN under the guidance of Dr. S. Chandrasekhara
Doreswami KN is Professor of Post Graduate Department of Sociology, Kuvempu University. He was originally of Katanakere village in Belur taluk. He is the son of Mrs. Sakamma and Narasimha Shetty and husband of Jyoti daughter of Dhammachari S.R. Lakshmana and Sasikala of Gandhinagar, Kavur’ . Dhammachari S.R. Lakshmana is the General Secretary of DK District Buddhist Mahasabha.
Presently residing in Moodabidri taluk of DK district. He is serving as a Graduate Primary Teacher (6-8) at H.P.School. Handelu. Also Government College of Arts and Commerce, (Autonomous) Hassan. As a member of the Board of Studies (BOS) of its Department of Post Graduate Sociology Studies, K. Ra. S. As President of NPS Employees’ Association Moodubidri Taluk, K. Ra. S. As the District Representative of the Employees Union, Karnataka State G.P. T. As the state coordinator of Hitarakshan Forum, Moodabidri, he is working as an active member of the Teacher’s Day Committee.
